Sugar Hollow Solar is hiring a brand new Electrical Crew Lead! This position is responsible for overseeing a team of Electrical Craftsman, managing the installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring all work adheres to electrical codes, while also performing hands-on electrical tasks related to solar panel connections and system integration, often including project planning, quality control and crew training.
Our ideal candidate brings strong experience installing or servicing solar panel components, electrical vehicle charging stations or battery systems and a firm grasp of leading and motivating a team in a construction environment, they love problem-solving and pitching in to help the team succeed, they are detail oriented and believe in the power of renewable energy!

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Receives job assignments from the Construction Manager and Project Manager and maintains clear communication throughout the day
Reads and interprets electrical schematics to understand site requirements in preparation for successfully leading an installation
Supervises a crew of electrical craftsman, assigning tasks, monitoring progress and ensuring efficient workflow
Provides on-the-job training and mentorship to Electrical Craftspeople on proper electrical installation, electrical standards and code
Performs installation of battery systems alongside solar systems, (EV) charging stations, and residential solar rough-ins, while managing daily workflow on the job site
Performs AC electrical work for solar systems and other electrical projects, which includes installing a variety of electrical equipment, conduit and wire on job sites
Conducts thorough inspections of installations to ensure quality standards are met and all completed systems are functioning at optimal capacity
Follows all safety procedures, identifies electrical hazards and repairs or replaces damaged units
Coordinates with other trades (roofers, structural engineers) as needed
Engages with customers, co-workers and other trades on the job site in a courteous and professional manner
Communicates effectively with customers to address concerns, explain system operations, provide project updates and maintain positive customer relationships
Attends ongoing training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety
Assists other departments with installations or repairs as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years’ experience with residential and commercial electrical wiring, repair or maintenance work required
Valid state (NC) electrical license (Asheville city journeyman card, SFD, limited, intermediate, or unlimited)
Experience installing or servicing solar panel components, electrical vehicle charging stations, or battery systems preferred
OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification preferred
Valid driver license required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Experience in laying out new construction electrical projects
Comprehensive understanding of solar PV systems, including electrical theory, wiring practices and safety protocols
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues related to solar systems
Proven experience leading and motivating a team in a construction environment
Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather conditions and kneel, crouch, crawl and work in tight spaces for extended periods of time
Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
